Sweet News About Chocolate

The University of Cambridge’s latest research in the British Medical Journal reveals that those who eat chocolate (specifically dark chocolate) are lowering their risk of heart disease, diabetes and stroke.

Dark chocolate causes the release of chemicals that reduce inflammation that leads to a number of diseases and disorders.

The combined study involved more than 100,000 chocolate loving people.  “High” consumption was considered eating chocolate more than once a week.

In one of the studies people who ate the most chocolate had a 37 percent reduced risk of heart disease and 29 percent reduction in stroke.  Another study found 31 percent lower risk of diabetes for chocolate lovers.

Common sense dictates you cannot eat chocolate at every meal or gargle with chocolate milk before bed.  However, this shows us that eating well doesn’t necessarily mean bean sprouts and boiled chicken 3 times per day.  Enjoy your meals.  Food should be experienced and celebrated.

The next time you treat yourself, think about doing it with quality instead of quantity.
